ZooMontana is unique within a 500-mile radius! For over 10 years, locals and visitors to the area have enjoyed the 70-acre zoological park and botanical garden. Our animals originate from areas with similar climates and temperatures to those found in the Billings. Exhibits are constructed using state-of-the-art natural habitat techniques. Plant and animal living collections are not only those native to the northern Rockies and high plains but also from northern latitudes of Europe and Asia. This combination positions ZooMontana as a unique and interesting collection of approximately 50% exotic and 50% native species.
Hosting over 70,000 visitors annually, ZooMontana is one of the regions most popular tourist attractions. We are the only zoo and botanical garden in the state. ZooMontana is officially accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association; there are only just over 200 such accredited institutions in the United States.
Mission Our mission is to create for our visitors an enjoyable, recreational and educational experience while providing quality care for the animal and plant collections and appropriate propagation programs for species that are needed.
